We are introducing a brand new project that aims to reconnect local residents and communities with council services.
The new “Better Borough Team” will put communities at the heart of service delivery and enable them to shape services in line with their issues and requirements. As part of the Council’s Building a Better Borough programme, this new team will be made up of a diverse group of volunteers from across the Borough and will be supported by a dedicated officer to develop a ‘peer to peer’ approach to their consultation and engagement processes which will be led by residents and communities themselves.
The team will be built from the start with openness and honesty in mind and from the council’s perspective they want to listen to the opinions and feedback given by our communities and residents and act wherever they can to build a better Borough for all. Where they cannot act, honest and clear feedback will also be given to ensure that residents and communities fully understand why this is the case meaning that the engagement and consultation will work both ways and they can build trust again with the borough.
There will be no bureaucracy involved with this, no formal structures, simply an open and honest team of residents who will be formally recognised by the council as a valuable source of engagement and feedback to help them on their journey to build a better borough. If you are interested in being a part of this team, please contact Scarborough council’s officer Liam Bamforth at firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest. If you do not have access to email, please call 07857664370 and leave a message with your name and best contact number to receive a call back.
